OCR: Father Knickerbocker 1946-47 Through 1963-64 The Father Knickerbocker logo was used from the 1946-47 season until the 1963-64 season. The figure of Father Knickerbocker dribbling a basketball was a symbol that evoked the history and spirit of New York City and while the name was eventually abbreviated to Knicks, the legacy remains the same. In keeping with another New York tradition, the team's colors have always (except for the years from 1980-81 through 1982-83) been orange, blue and white ... the official colors of New York City.
